The renin-aldosterone axis is normal so drug therapy is empiric. This is Primary/Essential HTN and will be the most common pattern seen on screening. Pheochromocytomas can have normal levels of renin and Aldosterone so watch for clinical signs and symptoms (usually thin patients with flushing, paroxysmal hypertension, and sympathetic nervous system over activity.  If no other underlying disease or genetic predisposition is present that requires a specific drug, then drug initiation should follow the JNC8 guidelines:  Rx:
