Health Care Analytics
Clinical Decision Support Tools (CDST) are used to analyze clinical information at the point of care and support health providers as they make prescriptive decisions based on collected data and clinical guidelines. These real-time systems are “active knowledge systems, which use two or more items of patient data to generate case-specific advice.
By synthesizing and distilling literature, guidelines and data from electronic medical records into manageable vignettes, CDSTs enable providers to quickly make evidence-based decisions, enhancing quality, safety, and communication, while facilitating a more personalized approach and increasing virtual management opportunities. Examples of CDSTs include dashboards, pharmacy medication alerts, protocols, documentation guidelines, and quick access links.
